Carl Czerny (1791 † 1857) is not only the composer of so many piano exercices.  He wrote plenty of religious music, orchestral music (symphonies, concertos, overtures), operas, and particularly piano music (two, four, eight hands) and some excellent chamber music.  He also took interest in the organ, for which he composed four books :

– six nice Preludes and Fugues op.603, about two pages length, in a rather classical style ;
– a large Prelude and Fugue in A minor op.607, planned to “make some effect” and to demonstrate the science of writing (inversions, augmentations, strettos, etc) in a more XIXth-oriented language ;
Twelve Preludes in legato style op.627, in a kind and clear mood close to Mendelssohn (but much more easy to play) ;
Twenty Preludes with obbligato Pedals op.698, in a similar style.

All of them were published between 1835 and 1842.  Czerny was familiar with several organists in Vienna.  But as the foreword explains, these four volumes have a link all together with the Viennese organ, still classical, and the English organ, then in the heart of its revolution (the “German system” is on its way).  At the same moment Cavaillé-Coll begins his career in France.  Thus these volumes appear at an important step of the History of European organ.

Performing these works meets no problem and pedalling, when requested, is simple (a little more difficult in the Prelude op. 607).
